A fun fight – The scrappy Yellow Bass
Yellow bass will usually hit open wateron small lures and live baits. Ice fishing can work well with Yellow bass. Spoons are recommended as well as some live baits to chum up the water.
I actually catch yellow bass quite often using minnows. They are usually in the same waters as crappie and hit on the same baits. If you are using spoons or minnows you may have success finding them at your local Crappie fishing hole.
Panfish jigs also work well for yellow bass. These are great lures to use anyway if you are open to catch anything just to have a good time.
